Our verdict

The X4 is XGODY's best-selling product: a 9-inch, 800×480 touchscreen sat nav with car and truck modes, lane assist, 2D/3D maps, voice guidance, speed-camera alerts and an FM transmitter, for $85.90 (X4F) or $89.90 with Bluetooth calling and AV-in (X4BT). It's a lot of screen for the money. But it has only 9 store reviews, maps are updated by copying files you get by email, the camera bundles are out of stock, and XGODY's warranty is just 180 days for repairs with a 1.4/5 Trustpilot score. Good value if you accept those limits; the better-reviewed 7-inch 886BT is the safer pick.

Overview

The XGODY X4 is the #1 best seller in XGODY's store: a 9-inch standalone GPS navigator for cars, trucks, RVs and more. It comes in two versions: the X4F ($85.90) and the X4BT ($89.90), which adds Bluetooth calling and AV-in. XGODY says its GPS units ranked top on eBay since 2009 (its own claim).

This review is based on XGODY's product page, policies and customer ratings as of October 2026. We haven't used the X4 ourselves.

Key features

Per XGODY's product page:

  • 9-inch capacitive touchscreen, 800×480 resolution.
  • 256 MB RAM, 8 GB storage, microSD up to 32 GB.
  • Car and truck modes: set your truck's height, weight, length and width to avoid low bridges and restricted roads.
  • Route options: fast, short, economical or easy; avoid unpaved roads, ferries, tolls or highways.
  • Lane assist, 2D/3D maps, POI search (gas, restaurants, hotels) and postcode search.
  • Voice guidance in many languages and speed-camera alerts.
  • FM transmitter to play sound through your car stereo, plus MP3/MP4 playback.
  • X4BT: Bluetooth hands-free calling and AV-in for a backup camera.
  • Comes with a car charger and suction mount.

XGODY doesn't list the X4's battery life, operating system or weight on the page.

Map updates

XGODY promises free lifetime map updates, released about once a year for the X4. You email support for a download link, then copy the files to the device yourself. It works, but it's more effort than automatic updates, and you'll need a computer.

Ratings

The X4 shows 4.8/5, but from only 9 reviews on XGODY's store, which is too few to judge reliability. Its 7-inch siblings have far more feedback: the 886BT shows 4.6/5 from 1,108 reviews and the 718 4.8/5 from 1,045. XGODY's Trustpilot profile is 1.4/5 from 125 reviews, mostly about warranty and failures on other products; see our XGODY review.

Things to know

  • Speed-camera alerts are banned while driving in some countries, such as France and Germany. Turn them off if needed.
  • Mount it where it doesn't block your view, and set the route before you drive.
  • Warranty: 14-day refund or replacement for defects, 30-day replacement, then free repair up to 180 days. Contact support first and keep the box.
  • Shipping: free on most items, 4–10 working days to the US, UK and Australia.

Price and coupon

  • X4F: $85.90. X4BT: $89.90.
  • Code TRANTRUNG takes 10% off at the time of writing, bringing the X4BT to about $81.

Alternatives

  • XGODY 886BT ($78.90): 7-inch truck sat nav with Bluetooth and over 1,000 store reviews. See X4 vs 886BT.
  • XGODY X10 ($93.50): newer 9-inch model with a listed 2,100 mAh battery.
  • All five are compared in best XGODY GPS navigators.

The bottom line

The XGODY X4 gives you a 9-inch sat nav with truck routing and Bluetooth (on the BT) for under $90, which is cheap. But with only 9 reviews, manual map updates and XGODY's short warranty and poor Trustpilot record, it's a budget gamble. If you want the screen size, the X4BT is the version to get; if you want the safest XGODY bet, the better-reviewed 886BT is worth a look. Our verdict: 6.4/10.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the X4F and X4BT?
The X4BT ($89.90) adds Bluetooth for hands-free calls through the navigator and an AV-in for a backup camera. The X4F ($85.90) has neither. Bundles with a wired or wireless backup camera were out of stock when we checked.
Does the XGODY X4 need a phone or data connection?
No. It's a standalone offline sat nav with maps stored on the device. Map updates are downloaded on a computer and copied to the device.
How do I update maps on the XGODY X4?
XGODY says map updates are free for life. Email support (or join its Facebook navigation group) to get a download link, then copy the new files onto the device, deleting the old map folders first. XGODY has video guides on its navigation FAQ page.
Can the X4 route trucks?
Yes. In route settings you can choose truck mode and enter your vehicle's height, weight, length and width so the route avoids restricted roads, per XGODY.
Does the FM function work as a radio?
No. The FM transmitter sends the navigator's sound (voice prompts, music, video audio) to your car radio on a chosen frequency. XGODY says to keep the car charger plugged in, as it acts as the antenna.
