Lensmart Review: Are $10 Prescription Glasses Online Worth It?

Lensmart is an online eyewear store selling prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, kids' glasses, sports glasses (cycling, ski and swimming goggles), contact lenses and accessories. It's run by EYE SMART INC, a company registered in Delaware, and says it ships to 80+ countries and sells 1.5M+ pairs a year.

Like other budget online opticians, Lensmart sells frames and lenses separately: you pick a frame, then add lenses and enter your prescription. This review covers prices, the product range, customer ratings, shipping, returns and warranty, based on Lensmart's store and policies as of October 2026. We haven't ordered glasses ourselves.

Lensmart also runs a "50% off every 2nd frame" offer and frequent sales. Upgrades like blue-light blocking, photochromic, polarized, progressive or high-index lenses cost extra; the final price appears after you choose lenses and enter your prescription.

Lens options

Lensmart offers single vision (distance or reading), progressive, bifocal and non-prescription lenses, in indexes up to 1.74 for strong prescriptions. Its FAQ says all lenses have anti-scratch and anti-reflective coatings, and you can add prism correction.

Read product descriptions carefully. Some Lensmart descriptions don't match their own measurement tables. The Sarah frame, for example, lists a 45 mm lens height in its specs but 51 mm in the description, and several descriptions mention "built-in blue light protection" even though lenses are chosen separately. Trust the measurement table, and pick blue-light lenses explicitly if you want them.

Returns and warranty: read carefully

• 365-day warranty: a one-time replacement for clear defects in material and workmanship.
• Non-quality returns within 30 days: the frame and packaging must be in original condition.
  • Days 1–15: refund of 70% of the lens price and 100% of the frame price.
  • Days 16–30: refund of 50% of the lens price and 80% of the frame price.
  • If your order shipped free, the shipping cost is deducted.
• You pay return shipping for non-quality returns, and sale items can't be returned or exchanged.
• Style or size: Lensmart offers a one-time replacement, but you pay the express fee.
• Contact lenses are final sale, except confirmed manufacturing defects reported within 15 days.
